What the site is for
Healthcare.uk exists for one job: to put the published waiting-time standards, the Care Quality Commission's ratings and the steps open to you under the NHS right to choose in one place, each figure carrying its source and the date it was read. Alongside that, it sets out the self-pay route for the same treatment, so a reader can see both routes side by side before deciding anything.
Who it's for
The main reader holds an NHS referral, or is about to ask their GP for one, and wants to know which provider near them is fastest for their treatment and how it is rated. Some readers are deciding whether to pay for a treatment themselves and want to know who offers it locally. Others are choosing on behalf of someone else, or have already waited longer than the published standard and want to know what they can ask for.
Who makes it and who pays for it
The site is built and edited independently of the NHS, the Care Quality Commission and any hospital or provider named on it. It carries no referral relationship with any provider, holds no panel membership and claims no regulatory authorisation, because none of those exist here. What it publishes is a dated account of what the NHS, the CQC and the law say, drawn from their own public releases, with the reader left to make the decision.
The site does not give medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. Anyone who needs help with a symptom or a clinical decision should speak to their GP, a pharmacist, NHS 111 or, in an emergency, 999.

Where the figures come from
Where a figure comes from
Every figure on this site is attributed to the public body that published it, whether it is a waiting-time release, a care rating, or a source of treatment pricing. Each one carries the month it was published and the day it was read, so you can go back to the publisher's own release and check it.
How updates work
Different publishers release on different schedules, so a page is refreshed against a newer figure whenever the source itself issues one. When that happens, the read date shown on the page moves with it.
When a published figure is later revised
Public bodies sometimes correct or restate a figure after it first appears. Where that happens, this site notes which figure was showing when the page was last checked and links through to the publisher's current release, so you can see for yourself whether anything has moved.
